Plan Your Trip What to Do River Outfitters

River Outfitters PDF Print E-mail

The following outfitters provide fully outfitted guided canoe and rafting trips on the Rio Grande. Trips last from a few hours to a week or more depending on which of 5 separate canyons of the Rio Grande one chooses to float.

Professionally guided trips have an excellent record for safety and guest comfort. Go to River for information about the Rio Grande and the spectacular canyons for which the Big Bend is famous. A free permit is required to run the river in the National and State Parks after the standard entry fee is paid.

altMost outfitters also provide equipment rental and transportation for folks who want to do it on their own. Before undertaking any trip without a guide, be aware that you may be responsible for the full cost of damaged or lost rented equipment and the cost of any required rescue service.

The outfitters listed below are also the best source of up to date information on river conditions and weather, and their advice is free.
