Re: Cross Canyon Trail Hike to Mariscal Canyon Float
Yes...I have seen DJ's post. I am mainly concerned with the hike as my 12 year old son will be with me. He has done South Rim, Guadalupe Peak, etc. so I am hoping it won't be too much for either of us to hike from Solis to Talley in one day. The goo...

Re: High Chisos Plan
Plan A is certainly possible but, as noted, you may not be able to secure campsites in the Chisos themselves.
I would consider using the Homer Wilson ranch as a starting point and spend a couple of nights along the Dodson, Smoky Creek and Elephant Tusk...

Re: High Chisos Plan
The earliest we could possibly get there is Saturday afternoon. Leaving San Antonion late Friday night.
Does the rush start Sat, Sun or Mon?

Re: High Chisos Plan
Unless you get there super early you probably won't be able to camp in any of the back country sites in the Basin. The park is usually 100% full during spring break first come first serve.
