Viva la Historia is a homecoming celebration for people who lived and worked in Historic Terlingua when it was a bustling mining town. Besides oral histories and local historical tours, there is also lots of good food and live music on Friday and Saturday nights.

Saturday November 7, 2009 43rd annual Terlingua International Chili Championship

Terlingua is where it all started in 1967, when a group of friends got together to settle a heated dispute about what constituted good chili. Nothing was resolved, and ever since chili lovers from all over the place have gathered on the first Saturday of each November to vie for the title of world's best chili cook.
