Terlingua is the spiritual center for all Chili Lovers, and the 5th annual Bronze Roadrunner Cook-Off starts the 2008 Chili Season with a bang. The cook off is sponsored by the Chili Appreciation Society International, and all proceeds go to the Terlingua School System capital improvement project.

On Friday, February 15, the weekend kicks off with Friday night Chili Competition, and whoever cooks the best bowl will take the first points of the year towards the 2008 World Championship, which is held in Terlingua the first Saturday in November. The 2008 event will mark the 42nd  year of Terlingua Chili fun!!.

On Saturday, Feb 16, 2008, Champion Chili Cook wins the coveted Bronze Roadrunner, . Anyone can enter.  (see rules)   All events will take place at the South Brewster County Community Center, located just west of the Terlingua US Post Office, Highway 118 just north of the Junction of 118 and 170 (see map).
